WHO IS THE SERVICE FOR?
Adults and children in Hambleton, Richmondshire and Whitby. The MIU can be used for minor injuries and minor illnesses that need urgent attention, without an appointment. Please advise the patient this is a 'walk and wait' service for urgent care only.
If it is an emergency, they should call 999.
THE SERVICE CAN TREAT:
- Sprains, strains and suspected broken bones
- Cuts and grazes
- Bites and stings
- Minor scalds and burns
- Ear and throat infections
- Skin problems and rashes
- Eye problems
- Feverish illness in adults and children
- Abdominal pain
- Vomiting and diarrhoea (phone advice – patient should not attend)
